(tweet from Owen) Can someone please explain to me why people think the Constitution is supposed to be a static document?

@OJTien I’m no law student, but I assume it’s because it’s like the grand daddy document that we use to base future laws off of. It’s the concept of the legal side of our country, on paper. A fluid constitution would suggest an unsound legal state. Also maybe you could make an analogy of constitution::politicians as Bible::Christians. It’s not “supposed” to change, but inevitably it does, bit by bit over time. 

Or if you want a nerdier example. I imagine that it’s kind of like constitution::”other” laws & CSS::HTML

Although I might understand less about coding than I do about the constitution.
