I am over rape.
I am over rape culture, rape mentality, rape pages on Facebook.
I am over the thousands of people who signed those pages with their real names without shame.
I am over people demanding their right to rape…
Fuck. I wrote a long addition to this and it was erased. Well, my conclusion was two parts:
There is in no way justification for rape.
It should be considered of equal ethical standing as murder. In my opinion, destroying the emotional livelihood of an individual is worse than destroying the individual. In death there is nothing (I’m pretty agnostic) or if you prefer: peace. In life, you have to carry all experiences befallen to you. It’s not something you “get over” or forget about; it is scarring.
I don’t usually post about this because honestly it is such a no-brainer to me. I guess I take for granted my ethical views?? You should not have to tell a person, let alone debate with them, the concept that rape is utterly wrong.
