So weird lol. Oh well, guess Christians are finally considering what it might be like if they got a taste of their own medicine. That’s good for anyone to contemplate. As I was laying in my bed reading the Bible, I remembered something a youth leader at my youth group said to us. What if some crazy law that banned the Bible went into effect tomorrow? What if we were killed for possessing a Bible or for having a scripture written down? The only thing we would have is our minds. If we don’t know the Bible—if we haven’t read it—how could continue living without knowing the Word of God? We should be prepared and have it memorized by heart, just as people used to. I know that the odds of a law like that going into effect tomorrow are very, very low but that doesn’t mean that we should take our Bible for granted. We need to be ready to preach the Word of God. We need to be prepared, whether the timing is favorable or not. For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teachings.
“Preach the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching. For a time is coming when people will no longer listen to sound and wholesome teaching. They will follow their own desires and will look for teachers who will tell them whatever their itching ears want to hear. They will reject the truth and chase after myths. But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.” —2 Timothy 4:2-5
amen.
